ABOUT

The Rhythm Weavers

Art has always been a way to explore, express, and discover what it really means to be human. Especially in today's world, we all need fun and empowering ways to express ourselves and to communicate about what life is like. The Rhythm Weavers provide the programs, ideas, and instruments to people so they can do this in the drum circle. Expressing ourselves in the drum circle can be a deeply meaningful way for people of all ages to learn, connect with one another and heal themselves and our planet.

Nature has always been my greatest inspiration and teacher. My musical sensibility comes from years of extensive world travel and immersion into a wide range of cultures. I’ve played and provided programs in schools, art centers, hospitals, nursing homes, juvenile detention centers, churches, temples, healing centers, festivals, private parties, and a wide range of concert venues and have been playing drums and percussion instruments for almost 50 years.

I founded The Rhythm Weavers as a community-based world percussion program and have offered these teachings all over the United States, Bolivia, Argentina, and Peru. I am also the co-founder and artistic coordinator of Arts For Everyone and have written the world percussion module for Prime Time of Palm Beach County.

I bring my passion for drumming into my own academic classroom as a 4th-grade teacher at The Benjamin School, where I have taught for 8 years. As the instrumental music teacher at the Palm Beach Academy, I spent 10 years coordinating performances and festivals for the school community. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Syracuse University and a Master’s of Education degree from Florida Atlantic University.
